The Clube das Pás has been mentioned in a few frevos, such as Voltei Recife [I Returned, Recife] composed by Luis Bandeira, who enriched the folklore of Northeast Brazil.

It originated in 1918, on the Genipapo plantation in Timbaúba, where Manoel Caetano Pereira de Queiroz had founded his factory, also calling it Genipapo.

A stretch of territory of very ancient origin is called Curcuranas, belonging to the municipality of Jaboatão, which is located in the vicinity of Afogados, Boa Viagem and Muribeca. At the beginning of the 17th century, there was a small settlement at the location.

The Curica-Musical Society Curica of Goiana, a city in Pernambuco’s Northern Forest Zone, is the oldest brass band in Brazil. It was founded on 8 September 1848 by José Conrado de Souza Nunes,with the objective of playing at religious festivals.

An integral part of the events of the Pernambuco Cultural Nation Festival, the former Circuito do Frio (Cold Circuit), the ‘Festa das Dálias’ (Dahlia Festival) has taken place since 2000 in the town of Taquaritinga do Norte in the Pernambuco countryside.
