Caxangá mill is located in the municipality of Ribeirão, on the right bank of the Amaragi River, and it was founded by the planters Arthur de Siqueira Cavalcanti and the brothers Ethelmino and Antônio Bastos.

Located in the municipality of Escada, on the mill of the same name, it was founded in 1890 by Marcionilo da Silveria Lins, taking the name Silveira Lins e Filhos.

The area where this small and unknown neighborhood of Recife is located corresponds to the old town of Macacos
